Creamy Pork Chops

Ingredients:

  • 4 pork chops (bone-in or boneless)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Season the Pork Chops:
    • Season both sides of the pork chops with salt and pepper.
  2. Sear the Pork Chops:
    • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Sear the pork chops for about 3-4 minutes on each side until they are nicely browned. Remove the pork chops from the skillet and set them aside.
  3. Prepare the Sauce:
    • In the same skillet, add minced garlic and chopped onion. Sauté until they are soft and fragrant.
  4. Deglaze the Pan:
    • Pour in the chicken broth, scraping the bottom of the skillet to loosen any browned bits (this adds flavor to the sauce).
  5. Add Cream and Spices:
    • Stir in the heavy cream, dried thyme, dried rosemary, and paprika. Let the sauce simmer for a few minutes until it thickens slightly.
  6. Return Pork Chops to the Pan:
    • Return the seared pork chops to the skillet, nestling them into the sauce.
  7. Simmer:
    • Let the pork chops simmer in the sauce for about 10-15 minutes, or until they are cooked through and tender. Make sure to turn them occasionally to coat them with the sauce.
  8. Finish and Serve:
    • Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the pork chops and sauce. Let it melt and blend into the sauce.
    • Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
  9. Serve:
    • Serve the creamy pork chops hot, spooning extra sauce over the top if desired. They go well with mashed potatoes, rice, or steamed vegetables.
