Creamy Crockpot Chicken and Gravy

Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for Creamy Crockpot Chicken and Gravy:

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup (or use a homemade version if preferred)
  • 1 packet (1 oz) ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 packet (1 oz) chicken gravy mix (or use homemade)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (optional for extra creaminess)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Crockpot:
    • Spray the bottom of your crockpot with cooking spray or line it with a slow cooker liner for easy cleanup.
  2. Add the Chicken:
    • Place the chicken breasts (or thighs) in the bottom of the crockpot.
  3. Make the Gravy Mixture:
    • In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of chicken soup, ranch seasoning mix, chicken gravy mix, and chicken broth. Stir everything together until well combined.
  4. Pour Over Chicken:
    • Pour the gravy mixture over the chicken in the crockpot. Stir gently to coat the chicken in the sauce.
  5. Cook:
    • Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours. The chicken will become very tender and easy to shred.
  6. Shred the Chicken:
    • Once cooked, remove the chicken from the crockpot and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded chicken to the gravy and stir to combine.
  7. Optional Step for Extra Creaminess:
    • Stir in sour cream for a richer and creamier texture (optional).
  8. Season:
    • Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
  9. Serve:
    • Serve the creamy chicken and gravy over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles. You can also serve it with a side of vegetables for a complete meal.
  10. Garnish:
  • Top with some chopped parsley for color and a bit of freshness.
