Here’s a simple and delicious cinnamon bun recipe for you!

Ingredients:

For the dough:

  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour

For the cinnamon filling:

  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 1/2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

For the glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Directions:

  1. Make the dough:
    • In a bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes, until it becomes frothy.
    • Add the melted butter, eggs, salt, and 2 cups of flour to the yeast mixture. Stir to combine.
    • Gradually add the remaining flour, a little at a time, until the dough is smooth and pulls away from the sides of the bowl. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes, or until it’s soft and elastic.
    • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean towel, and let it rise for about 1-2 hours, until it doubles in size.
  2. Prepare the cinnamon filling:
    • In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon.
    • Spread the softened butter over the surface of the dough, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly on top.
  3. Shape the cinnamon rolls:
    • Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a large rectangle (about 12×18 inches).
    • Spread the cinnamon-butter mixture evenly over the dough.
    • Starting from the longer side, carefully roll the dough into a log. Cut the log into 12 equal pieces.
    • Arrange the rolls in a greased baking dish, leaving a little space between each roll.
  4. Second rise:
    • Cover the rolls with a towel and let them rise for about 30 minutes, or until they puff up.
  5. Bake:
    • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
  6. Glaze:
    • While the rolls are baking, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the glaze.
    • Once the rolls are done, drizzle the glaze over the warm buns.

Enjoy your homemade cinnamon buns! They’re perfect for breakfast or a cozy treat.
