Chilli beef and pepperoni pasties sound like a delicious and flavorful combination! Here’s a basic recipe to help you create these tasty pasties at home:

Ingredients:

For the filling:

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • 1 cup pepperoni slices, chopped
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or a blend of your choice)

For the pastry:

  • Pre-made puff pastry sheets or your favorite pastry dough

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to the temperature recommended on the puff pastry package.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and diced bell pepper to the skillet. Sauté until the vegetables are softened.
  4. Stir in the chopped pepperoni, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Remove the skillet from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
  5. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface. Cut the pastry into squares or circles, depending on your preference and the size of pasties you want to make.
  6. Spoon the chili beef and pepperoni mixture onto one half of each pastry piece, leaving a border around the edges.
  7. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the filling.
  8. Fold the pastry over the filling, creating a half-moon shape. Seal the edges by pressing them together with a fork.
  9. Place the pasties on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven according to the puff pastry package instructions or until the pasties are golden brown and flaky.
  11. Allow the pasties to cool for a few minutes before serving.
