Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for Cheesy Quick Bread. This bread is easy to make and perfect for a savory snack or side dish.

Cheesy Quick Bread Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
  • 1 cup buttermilk (or substitute with 1 cup milk + 1 tablespoon vinegar or lemon juice)
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients:
    • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  3. Add Cheese:
    • Stir in the shredded cheese until it is evenly distributed.
  4. Combine Wet Ingredients:
    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, melted butter, and eggs until well combined.
  5. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
    • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; the batter should be lumpy.
  6. Transfer to Pan:
    • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it out evenly.
  7. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean.
  8. Cool:
    • Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Serve:
    • Slice and serve warm or at room temperature. Enjoy your cheesy quick bread as is, or with a spread of butter!

Tips:

  • You can add extra flavors like chopped herbs (e.g., chives, parsley) or spices (e.g., paprika, onion powder) for a different twist.
  • For a richer flavor, try using a combination of cheeses like cheddar and parmesan.
  • If you don’t have buttermilk, you can make a substitute by mixing 1 cup of milk with 1 tablespoon of vinegar or lemon juice and letting it sit for 5 minutes.

Enjoy your homemade Cheesy Quick Bread!
