Posted on July 31, 2025

Here’s a bold and indulgent Cheesesteak-Stuffed Garlic Bread Loaf recipe — a perfect crowd-pleaser that combines buttery garlic bread with gooey Philly cheesesteak filling.

Cheesesteak-Stuffed Garlic Bread Loaf

Ingredients:

For the Filling:

  • 1 lb (450g) thinly sliced beef ribeye or sirloin

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced

  • 1 small onion, sliced

  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)

  • Salt & pepper, to taste

  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 6–8 slices provolone cheese or mozzarella

For the Garlic Bread:

  • 1 large French or Italian bread loaf

  • 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, softened

  • 3–4 garlic cloves, minced

  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:

    • Set oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Prepare the Filling:

    • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.

    • Add sliced onions, peppers, and mushrooms. Sauté until soft (5–6 minutes).

    • Push veggies to the side; add beef slices. Season with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.

    • Cook until no longer pink (about 3–4 minutes). Combine with veggies and remove from heat.

  3. Make Garlic Butter:

    • In a bowl, mix butter, garlic, parsley, salt, pepper, and Parmesan (if using).

  4. Prepare the Loaf:

    • Cut the bread in half lengthwise (don’t slice all the way through).

    • Hollow out some of the inside to make room for the filling.

    • Brush the inside with garlic butter generously.

  5. Assemble:

    • Layer half of the cheese slices inside the bread.

    • Spoon in the hot beef mixture evenly.

    • Top with remaining cheese slices.

  6. Bake:

    • Wrap the loaf in foil and bake for 15 minutes.

    • Unwrap and bake another 5–8 minutes to crisp the top.

  7. Serve:

    • Let it rest for 5 minutes.

    • Slice and serve warm with extra garlic butter on the side if desired.
