Here’s a hearty, crowd-pleasing Cheeseburger French Fry Casserole recipe—like a cheeseburger and fries baked together in one delicious dish!


Cheeseburger French Fry Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 tablespoon ketchup

  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard

  • 1 (10.5 oz) can condensed cheddar cheese soup

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (plus more for topping)

  • ½ cup sour cream

  • 1 (26–28 oz) bag frozen French fries (crinkle cut or shoestring work well)

  • Optional toppings: pickles, diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce (for serving)


Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  2. Cook the beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with onion until browned and fully cooked, about 6–8 minutes. Drain excess fat.

  3. Add flavor: Stir in garlic, salt, pepper, ketchup, and mustard. Cook another minute. Remove from heat.

  4. Make the cheesy mix: In a bowl, whisk together the cheddar cheese soup, sour cream, and 1 cup shredded cheese. Stir into the beef mixture until well combined.

  5. Assemble the casserole: Spread the beef mixture in the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Arrange frozen French fries evenly over the top.

  6. Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes, until fries are golden and crisp.

  7. Top with cheese: Sprinkle additional shredded cheese over fries. Return to oven for 5–10 more minutes, until melted and bubbly.

  8. Serve: Garnish with burger-style toppings if desired (diced pickles, tomatoes, lettuce). Serve hot!
