Posted on March 7, 2024 by admin

Cheese and onion on toast is a classic comfort food dish that’s quick and easy to make. Here’s a simple recipe:

Ingredients:

  • Bread slices (white, whole wheat, or your preference)
  • Cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or any melting cheese you like)
  • Onion (sliced thinly)
  • Butter or margarine
  • Salt and pepper to taste (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven’s broiler or grill.
  2. Lightly toast your bread slices using a toaster or toaster oven.
  3. While the bread is toasting, sauté the thinly sliced onions in a pan with a little bit of butter or oil until they’re soft and caramelized. Season with salt and pepper if desired.
  4. Once the bread is toasted, spread a thin layer of butter or margarine on each slice.
  5. Top each slice with a generous amount of cheese, followed by the caramelized onions.
  6. Place the assembled toasts on a baking sheet and put them under the broiler or grill until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges of the bread are golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
  8. Enjoy your delicious cheese and onion on toast!

Feel free to customize this recipe by adding other ingredients such as herbs, garlic, or even cooked bacon for extra flavor.
