Butterscotch Brownies

Butterscotch brownies, also known as blondies, are a delicious variation of traditional chocolate brownies. They are characterized by their rich, buttery flavor and sweet butterscotch chips. Here’s a simple recipe for you to try:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and brown sugar until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Fold in the butterscotch chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it out evenly.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (but not wet batter).
  9. Allow the butterscotch brownies to cool completely in the pan before cutting them into squares or bars.
  10. Optional: You can add a drizzle of caramel sauce or a sprinkle of sea salt on top for extra flavor.
