Breakfast Rolls with Turkey Sausage, Egg, and Cheese
These delicious breakfast rolls are packed with flavor and are easy to make, combining turkey sausage, scrambled eggs, and melted cheese all wrapped in a soft, warm roll. Perfect for a satisfying breakfast or brunch!
Ingredients:
- For the Rolls:
- 4 soft dinner rolls (or use breakfast sandwich buns or croissants)
- For the Filling:
- 2 turkey sausage links (or turkey sausage crumbles)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup milk or cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix of both)
- Optional Add-ins:
- 1 tbsp butter for greasing the pan or scrambling the eggs
- Fresh herbs (chives or parsley), for garnish
- Hot sauce or ketchup, for serving
Instructions:
- Prepare the Turkey Sausage:
- If using sausage links, slice them open and crumble the meat into a pan. If using turkey sausage crumbles, simply place them in a skillet.
- Cook over medium heat until browned and cooked through, breaking it apart with a spatula. Once done, remove from the skillet and set aside.
- Scramble the Eggs:
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper.
- In the same skillet used for the sausage, melt butter (if desired) over medium-low heat.
- Pour the egg mixture into the pan and scramble gently, stirring occasionally until cooked through. Remove from heat.
- Assemble the Breakfast Rolls:
- Cut the rolls in half horizontally, but don’t slice all the way through. You want to create a pocket.
- Layer the cooked turkey sausage, scrambled eggs, and shredded cheese inside each roll. Feel free to sprinkle a little extra cheese on top for a gooey finish!
- Toast the Rolls (Optional):
- If you like your rolls a little crispier, place them on a baking sheet and pop them under the broiler for 1-2 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the rolls are golden brown.
- Serve:
- Serve the breakfast rolls warm. You can garnish with fresh herbs or serve with hot sauce or ketchup if desired.
Enjoy your hearty and delicious breakfast rolls with turkey sausage, egg, and cheese!
