BAKED LEGS WITH CREAM OF MUSHROOM

Baked chicken legs with cream of mushroom is a delicious and easy-to-make dish. Here’s a simple recipe for you:

Ingredients:

  • 4 chicken legs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season the chicken legs with salt and pepper.
  3. In a large oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Brown the chicken legs on all sides. This step helps seal in the juices and adds flavor.
  4. Remove the chicken legs from the skillet and set them aside.
  5. In the same skillet, add chopped onions and minced garlic. Sauté until the onions are translucent and the garlic is fragrant.
  6. Pour in the cream of mushroom soup and chicken broth, stirring to combine. Add dried thyme if using. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
  7. Return the browned chicken legs to the skillet, spooning some of the mushroom sauce over them.
  8. If desired, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the chicken.
  9. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for about 35-40 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving if you like.

Serve the baked chicken legs with cream of mushroom sauce over rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes for a complete and satisfying meal. Enjoy!
