Baked Donuts Recipe

Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for baked donuts! These donuts are soft, fluffy, and perfect for a healthier alternative to fried ones.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg (optional)
  • 1/2 cup milk (any kind)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan with a little oil or use non-stick spray.
  2. Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg (if using).
  3. Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, vanilla extract, melted butter, and vegetable oil until well combined.
  4. Combine Wet and Dry: Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Fill the Donut Pan: Spoon the donut batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 of the way full. You can use a piping bag or a ziplock bag with the tip cut off to make this easier.
  6. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the donuts are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool & Serve: Let the donuts cool for a few minutes in the pan before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Optional Toppings:

  • Glaze: Mix powdered sugar with a little milk and vanilla for a simple glaze.
  • Cinnamon Sugar: Combine cinnamon and sugar, then dip the donuts in melted butter and roll them in the mixture for a sweet treat.
