Baked Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Pinwheels

Posted on January 26, 2025 by admin

Baked Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Pinwheels sound like a delicious and fun breakfast or snack option! Here’s a simple recipe to make them:

Ingredients:

  • 1 package of crescent roll dough (or puff pastry)
  • 6 slices of cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 2 large eggs, scrambled
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your preferred cheese)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: Chopped green onions or herbs for extra flavor

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven: Follow the instructions on the crescent roll dough packaging for the correct temperature (typically 375°F or 190°C).
  2. Prepare the eggs: Scramble the eggs in a skillet over medium heat, seasoning with a pinch of salt and pepper. Cook until they are just set but not overcooked.
  3. Prepare the bacon: Cook the bacon in a pan until crispy, then crumble it into small pieces.
  4. Unroll the dough: Lay the crescent roll dough on a parchment-lined baking sheet. If using crescent rolls, pinch together the perforations to form a solid sheet.
  5. Assemble the pinwheels:
    • Spread a thin layer of scrambled eggs across the dough, leaving about 1 inch around the edges.
    • Sprinkle crumbled bacon and shredded cheese evenly over the eggs.
  6. Roll it up: Starting from one edge, carefully roll the dough into a log or cylinder. Pinch the seams together to seal.
  7. Slice into pinwheels: Cut the roll into about 8 even slices.
  8. Bake: Place the pinwheels on the baking sheet and bake according to the crescent roll instructions, typically for about 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. Serve: Allow the pinwheels to cool slightly, then enjoy!
