Bacon mushroom pork chops are a delicious and hearty dish that combines the savory flavors of bacon and mushrooms with tender pork chops. Here’s a simple recipe to make bacon mushroom pork chops:
Ingredients:
- 4 boneless pork chops
- 6 slices of bacon, chopped
- 8 ounces of mushrooms, sliced
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Season the pork chops generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
- In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the bacon and cook until crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet and set aside, leaving the bacon fat in the skillet.
- In the same skillet with the bacon fat, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Add the pork chops and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked through. Remove the pork chops from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and sliced mushrooms. Cook for about 5 minutes, or until the onions are translucent and the mushrooms are tender.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
- Pour in the chicken broth and use a wooden spoon to scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
- Stir in the heavy cream and cooked bacon. Let the sauce simmer for a few minutes until it thickens slightly.
- Return the pork chops to the skillet and spoon some of the sauce over the top.
- Continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes, until the pork chops are heated through and the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired, before serving.
Serve the bacon mushroom pork chops hot with your favorite side dishes, such as mashed potatoes, rice, or steamed vegetables. Enjoy!
