Bacon and Cheese Puff Pastry

Here’s a simple and delicious Bacon and Cheese Puff Pastry recipe that works great as an appetizer, snack, or even breakfast treat!


🧀🥓 Bacon and Cheese Puff Pastry

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed if frozen)

  • 4–6 slices of bacon (cooked until just crisp, then chopped)

  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, gruyère, or a mix)

  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

  • Optional: chopped chives or green onions, black pepper, mustard, or a pinch of paprika


Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.

  2. Prepare puff pastry:

    • Roll out the pastry on a lightly floured surface.

    • Cut into squares or rectangles (about 3″ x 3″ or larger if you prefer).

  3. Add filling:

    • Sprinkle some cheese in the center of each piece.

    • Add chopped bacon on top.

    • Optional: Add chives, pepper, or a tiny bit of mustard for extra flavor.

  4. Shape the pastries:

    • You can:

      • Fold into triangles (like turnovers) and seal the edges.

      • Fold all corners into the center for a “parcel” look.

      • Leave them open like mini tarts or pinwheels.

  5. Egg wash:

    • Beat the egg and brush the tops of the pastries for a golden finish.

  6. Bake:

    • Bake for 15–20 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.

  7. Cool and serve:

    • Let them cool slightly before serving. Best served warm!
