Airfried fish fillet

Posted on September 13, 2023

Air frying fish fillets is a quick and healthy way to enjoy a crispy and delicious seafood dish without deep frying. Here’s a basic recipe for air-fried fish fillets:

Ingredients:

  • 4 fish fillets (such as tilapia, cod, or haddock)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (you can use panko breadcrumbs for extra crispiness)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking spray or a small amount of oil for greasing (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Coating: In a shallow dish, combine the breadcrumbs, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well to distribute the seasonings evenly.
  3. Coat the Fish Fillets: Dredge each fish fillet in the flour, ensuring it’s lightly coated all over. Shake off any excess flour. Next, dip the fillets into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off. Finally, coat the fillets in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing the breadcrumbs onto the fillets to adhere.
  4. Grease the Air Fryer Basket: You can lightly grease the air fryer basket or tray with cooking spray or a small amount of oil to prevent sticking. Alternatively, you can use parchment paper cut to fit the basket.
  5. Air Fry the Fish: Place the breaded fish fillets in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Make sure there’s some space between them for even cooking. You may need to cook the fillets in batches, depending on the size of your air fryer.
  6. Air Fry: Cook the fish fillets at 375°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time. The fillets should be golden brown and crispy on the outside and cooked through on the inside. Cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the fillets.
  7. Serve: Remove the air-fried fish fillets from the air fryer and let them rest for a minute. Serve them hot with your favorite dipping sauce or sides, such as tartar sauce, lemon wedges, or coleslaw.

Air-frying fish fillets is a healthier alternative to deep frying, and it results in a tasty and crispy dish that’s perfect for a quick dinner. Adjust the seasonings and breadcrumbs to your preference to customize the flavor to your liking.
