Air fryer Turkish bread

Posted on January 14, 2024 by admin

Certainly! Making Turkish bread in an air fryer is a quick and convenient way to achieve a crispy exterior while keeping the inside soft. Here’s a simple recipe for air fryer Turkish bread:

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 cup warm water (110°F/43°C)
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for topping)

Instructions:

  1. Activate the yeast:
    • In a small bowl, combine the warm water and sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
    • Sprinkle the yeast over the water and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes foamy.
  2. Mix the dough:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt.
    • Make a well in the center and pour in the activated yeast mixture and olive oil.
    • Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough:
    • Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. Let it rise:
    • Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-1.5 hours, or until it doubles in size.
  5. Preheat the air fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  6. Divide and shape the dough:
    • Punch down the risen dough and divide it into smaller portions.
    • Roll each portion into a round or oval shape, about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick.
  7. Air fry:
    • Place the shaped dough into the air fryer basket, leaving some space between each piece.
    • Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Optional: Top with sesame seeds:
    • If you like, you can brush the tops of the bread with a little water and sprinkle sesame seeds before air frying.
  9. Serve:
    • Once done, remove the Turkish bread from the air fryer and let it cool for a few minutes.
    • Serve warm and enjoy with your favorite dips or fillings.

Adjust the cooking time based on the size and thickness of your bread and the specific model of your air fryer. Enjoy your homemade air fryer Turkish bread!
