Here’s a delicious and easy recipe for Slow Cooker Chocolate Turtles!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup pecan halves
- 1 cup caramel candies (about 20-25 pieces)
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream (optional)
- 1 cup chocolate chips (milk or dark, your choice)
- Sea salt (for sprinkling, optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Slow Cooker: Line the bottom of your slow cooker with parchment paper or spray it with non-stick cooking spray.
- Layer the Pecans: Spread the pecan halves evenly across the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Melt the Caramels:
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the caramel candies and heavy cream (if using).
- Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth and melted.
- Pour the melted caramel over the pecans in the slow cooker.
- Cook: Cover the slow cooker and set it on low for about 2 hours. The caramel should be bubbly and slightly thickened.
- Add Chocolate: Once the caramel is done, sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly on top of the caramel. Cover and let it sit for about 15-20 minutes until the chocolate is melted.
- Stir: After the chocolate has melted, gently stir to combine it with the caramel.
- Cool and Set: Use a spoon to scoop the mixture into clusters on a parchment-lined baking sheet. If desired, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top of each turtle.
- Chill: Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to allow the turtles to set.
- Serve: Enjoy your delicious homemade chocolate turtles!
