Slow Cooker Chocolate Turtles

Here’s a delicious and easy recipe for Slow Cooker Chocolate Turtles!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 1 cup caramel candies (about 20-25 pieces)
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream (optional)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (milk or dark, your choice)
  • Sea salt (for sprinkling, optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Slow Cooker: Line the bottom of your slow cooker with parchment paper or spray it with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Layer the Pecans: Spread the pecan halves evenly across the bottom of the slow cooker.
  3. Melt the Caramels:
    • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the caramel candies and heavy cream (if using).
    • Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth and melted.
    • Pour the melted caramel over the pecans in the slow cooker.
  4. Cook: Cover the slow cooker and set it on low for about 2 hours. The caramel should be bubbly and slightly thickened.
  5. Add Chocolate: Once the caramel is done, sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly on top of the caramel. Cover and let it sit for about 15-20 minutes until the chocolate is melted.
  6. Stir: After the chocolate has melted, gently stir to combine it with the caramel.
  7. Cool and Set: Use a spoon to scoop the mixture into clusters on a parchment-lined baking sheet. If desired, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top of each turtle.
  8. Chill: Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to allow the turtles to set.
  9. Serve: Enjoy your delicious homemade chocolate turtles!

Storage:

Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator for up to a week.
