Here’s a delicious recipe for Shrimp and Chive Dumplings baked in a dish. This recipe combines tender dumplings with the savory flavors of shrimp and fresh chives.

Shrimp and Chive Dumplings in a Baking Dish

Ingredients

For the Dumpling Filling:

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup fresh chives, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for binding)

For the Dumpling Dough:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup boiling water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

For the Topping:

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar (optional)
  • Chopped chives for garnish

Instructions

1. Make the Dumpling Dough:

  • In a bowl, mix the flour and salt.
  • Gradually add boiling water, stirring until the mixture comes together.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.

2. Prepare the Filling:

  • In a food processor, pulse the shrimp until coarsely chopped.
  • In a bowl, combine the chopped shrimp, chives, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, pepper, and cornstarch. Mix well.

3. Assemble the Dumplings:

  • Divide the dough into small portions (about 1 inch each).
  • Roll each portion into a circle (about 3 inches in diameter).
  • Place a small spoonful of filling in the center of each circle.
  • Fold the dough over the filling and pinch the edges to seal.

4. Bake the Dumplings:

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Lightly grease a baking dish. Arrange the dumplings in a single layer.
  • In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, sesame oil, and rice vinegar. Drizzle over the dumplings.
  • Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the dumplings are cooked through and slightly golden.

5. Serve:

  • Garnish with chopped chives and serve hot.
