Posted on September 16, 2024 by admin

Here’s a recipe for Ultimate Texas Toast with Melted Cheese, a savory, cheesy delight that can be enjoyed as a snack or a side!

Ingredients:

  • 6 slices of thick-cut Texas toast bread
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced (or 1 tsp garlic powder)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning (optional)
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese (or cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a mix)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare the garlic butter: In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, minced garlic (or garlic powder), Italian seasoning (if using), salt, and pepper.
  3. Butter the bread: Spread the garlic butter mixture generously on one side of each slice of Texas toast.
  4. Add the cheese: Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded mozzarella (or your preferred cheese) evenly over the buttered side of each slice. Top with grated Parmesan for added flavor.
  5. Bake: Place the slices on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.
  6. Broil (optional): For an extra golden top, turn on the broiler for the last 1-2 minutes, but keep a close eye on it to avoid burning.
  7. Garnish and serve: Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley if desired. Serve hot!

Enjoy this delicious, cheesy Texas toast with your favorite dishes or as a treat on its own!
