Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for baked honey garlic chicken thighs:

Ingredients:

  • 6-8 chicken thighs, bone-in, skin-on
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (or rice vinegar)
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional, for color)
  • Fresh parsley or green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the Marinade:
    • In a medium bowl, mix together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, olive oil, vinegar, black pepper, and paprika.
  3. Marinate the Chicken:
    • Place the chicken thighs in a large bowl or a ziplock bag.
    • Pour the marinade over the chicken, making sure each thigh is well coated.
    • Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes (up to 2 hours for more flavor). If marinating for longer, place the chicken in the refrigerator.
  4. Bake the Chicken:
    • Arrange the marinated chicken thighs in a baking dish, skin side up.
    • Pour any remaining marinade over the chicken.
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 35-45 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 75°C) and the skin is crispy and golden brown.
  5. Baste for Extra Flavor (Optional):
    • About halfway through baking, baste the chicken with the juices in the pan to add extra flavor and keep it moist.
  6. Broil for Crispy Skin (Optional):
    • If you want extra crispy skin, turn on the broiler for the last 3-5 minutes of cooking, but watch carefully to prevent burning.
  7. Serve:
    • Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions.
    • Serve the chicken thighs with your favorite sides like steamed rice, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad.
