HOMEMADE MARBLE CAKE

Here’s a simple and delicious homemade marble cake recipe:

Ingredients:

  • For the Cake:
    • 2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
    • ½ tsp baking soda
    • ¼ tsp salt
    • ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • 3 large eggs
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
    • ¾ cup whole milk or buttermilk
    • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
    • 2 tbsp boiling water

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan or a bundt pan.
  2. Prepare the Batter:
    • In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
    • In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
    • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    • Mix in the vanilla extract.
    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  3. Prepare the Chocolate Batter:
    • In a small bowl, mix the cocoa powder with the boiling water until smooth.
    • Take 1/3 of the vanilla batter and mix it with the cocoa mixture until well combined.
  4. Layer the Batter:
    • Spoon the vanilla and chocolate batters alternately into the prepared pan. Use a knife or skewer to gently swirl the batters together to create a marbled effect.
  5. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
    • Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove it from the pan and let it cool completely on a wire rack.
  6. Serve:
    • Slice and enjoy your homemade marble cake with a cup of tea or coffee!
