Posted on July 13, 2024 by admin

Here’s a classic recipe for Chocolate Vanilla Pudding:

Ingredients:

Vanilla Pudding:

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Chocolate Pudding:

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

Vanilla Pudding:

  1. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium saucepan, whisk together the sugar, cornstarch, and salt.
  2. Add Milk: Gradually whisk in the milk until the mixture is smooth.
  3. Heat Mixture: Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook, whisking constantly, until the mixture begins to thicken and comes to a boil. This will take about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Simmer: Once it starts boiling, reduce the heat to low and continue to cook while whisking for another 1-2 minutes until the pudding is thick.
  5. Finish Pudding: Remove from heat and stir in the butter and vanilla extract until the butter is melted and the pudding is smooth.
  6. Cool: Pour the pudding into individual serving dishes or one large bowl. Press plastic wrap directly onto the surface to prevent a skin from forming. Let it cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
