Bacon Brown Sugar Chicken Tenders Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb chicken tenders
  • 8-10 slices of bacon
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for a bit of heat)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top. This will allow the bacon to cook evenly and the fat to drain off.
  2. Prepare the Chicken: Pat the chicken tenders dry with paper towels.
  3. Mix the Seasonings: In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using).
  4. Coat the Chicken: Rub the chicken tenders with the brown sugar mixture, making sure each tender is well-coated.
  5. Wrap the Chicken: Wrap each chicken tender with a slice of bacon. You may need to use toothpicks to secure the bacon in place.
  6. Arrange on Rack: Place the bacon-wrapped chicken tenders on the wire rack on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 75°C).
  8. Optional Broiling: For extra crispy bacon, you can broil the chicken tenders for an additional 2-3 minutes after baking. Keep a close eye to prevent burning.
  9. Serve: Remove the chicken tenders from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes. Serve hot and enjoy!

Tips:

  • Variation: For a sweeter glaze, you can brush the chicken tenders with a bit of maple syrup or honey before baking.
  • Storage: Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave before serving.
