ORANGE SHERBERT

Certainly! Here’s an easy recipe for making orange sherbet at home:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups orange juice (freshly squeezed for best flavor)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup heavy cream or coconut cream (for a dairy-free option)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the orange juice and granulated sugar. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. You can adjust the amount of sugar based on your taste preferences.
  2. Add the heavy cream (or coconut cream for a dairy-free option) to the orange mixture. Stir well until everything is well combined.
  3. Mix in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. The salt helps enhance the flavors.
  4. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions. This usually takes about 20-30 minutes, but times may vary depending on your ice cream maker.
  5. Once the sherbet has reached a soft and creamy consistency, transfer it to an airtight container.
  6. Cover the container with plastic wrap or parchment paper directly touching the surface of the sherbet to prevent ice crystals from forming. Then, seal the container with a lid.
  7. Place the container in the freezer and allow the sherbet to firm up for at least 4 hours or until it’s completely frozen.
  8. When ready to serve, let the sherbet sit at room temperature for a few minutes to soften slightly before scooping.
  9. Scoop the orange sherbet into bowls or cones, and enjoy your homemade treat!
