Warm Spiced Apple Cider recipe

Posted on February 7, 2024 by admin

Certainly! Here’s a simple recipe for warm spiced apple cider:

Ingredients:

  • 1 gallon (about 4 liters) apple cider
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 8 whole cloves
  • 8 whole allspice berries
  • 1 orange, thinly sliced
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • Optional: 1/4 cup brown sugar or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Optional garnish: cinnamon sticks, orange slices, lemon slices

Instructions:

  1. In a large pot, pour the apple cider.
  2. Add the cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, and whole allspice berries to the pot.
  3. Place the pot over medium heat and bring the cider to a simmer. Be careful not to let it boil.
  4. Once simmering, reduce the heat to low and let the cider steep for about 20-30 minutes. This allows the spices to infuse into the cider.
  5. After steeping, remove the pot from the heat. If you added brown sugar or maple syrup, you can stir it in now until dissolved.
  6. Strain the cider to remove the whole spices and citrus slices. You can strain it through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth.
  7. Ladle the warm spiced apple cider into mugs.
  8. Optionally, garnish each mug with a cinnamon stick, orange slice, or lemon slice before serving.

Enjoy your warm spiced apple cider! It’s perfect for chilly days or festive gatherings.
