Shrimp salad

Posted on February 4, 2024 by admin

Certainly! Shrimp salad is a delicious and refreshing dish that can be enjoyed as a light meal or appetizer. Here’s a simple recipe for a classic shrimp salad:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (about 450g) cooked shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Greek yogurt (or sour cream)
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 celery stalk, finely chopped
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lettuce leaves for serving (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine mayonnaise, Greek yogurt (or sour cream), Dijon mustard, and lemon juice. Mix well to create the dressing.
  2. Add the cooked shrimp to the bowl with the dressing. If the shrimp are large, you can chop them into bite-sized pieces.
  3. Add chopped celery, sliced green onions, and fresh dill to the bowl. Gently toss the ingredients until the shrimp are evenly coated with the dressing and the vegetables are distributed.
  4. Season the salad with salt and pepper to taste. Adjust the seasoning according to your preference.
  5. Refrigerate the shrimp salad for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  6. Before serving, you can place the shrimp salad on a bed of lettuce leaves for a nice presentation, or you can serve it in a bowl.
  7. Garnish with additional fresh dill or lemon wedges if desired.

Feel free to customize the recipe by adding other ingredients like diced avocado, cherry tomatoes, or cucumber for extra freshness and flavor. Enjoy your shrimp salad!
