Turkish Manti is a delicious dish consisting of tiny handmade dumplings filled with seasoned ground meat, typically served with yogurt and garlic-infused butter sauce. Here’s a heavenly Turkish Manti recipe for you to try:

Ingredients:

For the Dough:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • Water (as needed)

For the Filling:

  • 1/2 pound ground beef or lamb
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Sauce:

  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

For Garnish:

  • Red pepper flakes
  • Fresh mint leaves, chopped

Instructions:

1. Make the Dough:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and egg.
  2. Gradually add water while kneading the mixture until a smooth, elastic dough is formed.
  3. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for about 30 minutes.

2. Prepare the Filling:

  1. In a bowl, mix the ground meat, finely chopped onion, salt, and pepper.
  2. Roll the meat mixture into small, marble-sized balls.

3. Roll Out the Dough:

  1. Roll out the dough on a floured surface until it is very thin.
  2. Cut the rolled-out dough into small squares (about 2 inches by 2 inches).

4. Assemble the Dumplings:

  1. Place a meatball in the center of each dough square.
  2. Fold the edges of the square over the meatball and press the corners together, forming a tiny dumpling.

5. Cook the Manti:

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  2. Carefully drop the manti into the boiling water and cook until they float to the surface (about 8-10 minutes).
  3. Remove the cooked manti with a slotted spoon and place them on a serving dish.

6. Prepare the Sauce:

  1. In a separate bowl, mix the yogurt and minced garlic.
  2. In a small pan, heat the olive oil until it’s hot but not smoking. Pour it over the yogurt and stir well.

7. Serve:

  1. Pour the garlic-infused yogurt sauce over the cooked manti.
  2. Sprinkle red pepper flakes and chopped fresh mint leaves on top for garnish.

Enjoy your heavenly Turkish Manti
