Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes are a delicious twist on the classic Sloppy Joe sandwich, inspired by the flavors of a Philly cheesesteak. Here’s a simple recipe for you to try:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 8 oz mushrooms, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hoagie rolls or burger buns
  • 8 slices provolone or Swiss cheese

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until cooked through. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the chopped onion, bell pepper, mushrooms, and garlic to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are tender.
  3. Pour in the beef broth, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir to combine.
  4. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste. Allow it to simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce thickens.
  5. While the mixture is simmering, split the hoagie rolls or burger buns and place them on a baking sheet.
  6. Preheat your oven’s broiler. Spoon the Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joe mixture onto the bottom half of each roll.
  7. Top each with 2 slices of provolone or Swiss cheese.
  8. Place the baking sheet under the broiler for 1-2 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Remove from the oven and place the top half of the rolls on the melted cheese.
  10. Serve immediately and enjoy your Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes!

Feel free to customize this recipe based on your preferences. You can also add toppings like sautéed jalapeños or banana peppers for an extra kick. Enjoy your delicious twist on a classic sandwich!
