Certainly! Making homemade lasagna is a delightful and rewarding process. Here’s a classic recipe for a delicious homemade lasagna:

Ingredients:

For the meat sauce:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can (14 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

For the ricotta filling:

  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Other ingredients:

  • 9 lasagna noodles, cooked al dente
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat. Add chopped onions and garlic and cook until the onions are softened.
  3. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, water, sugar, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer the sauce for about 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. While the sauce is simmering, prepare the ricotta filling. In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  5. Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  6. Assemble the lasagna in a baking dish. Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of the dish. Place three lasagna noodles on top. Spread a layer of ricotta filling, followed by a layer of meat sauce and a sprinkle of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of meat sauce and a generous amount of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
  7. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Then, uncover and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.

Enjoy your homemade lasagna! You can customize this recipe by adding vegetables or using different types of cheeses according to your preferences.
