Posted on September 13, 2025 by admin

Here’s a flavorful Bowtie Lemon Garlic Chicken Pasta recipe that combines tender chicken, zesty lemon, savory garlic, and perfectly cooked bowtie pasta (farfalle). It’s simple enough for a weeknight but elegant enough for guests.

🍋 Bowtie Lemon Garlic Chicken Pasta

🕒 Prep Time: 10 mins

🍳 Cook Time: 20 mins

🍽️ Serves: 4

📝 Ingredients:

  • 8 oz bowtie pasta (farfalle)

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast (cut into bite-sized pieces)

  • Salt & pepper, to taste

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning (optional)

  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for a little heat)

  • 1 lemon (zested and juiced)

  • 1/4 cup chicken broth (or dry white wine)

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1/4 cup heavy cream (optional, for a creamy version)

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

🔪 Instructions:

  1. Cook the Pasta:

    • Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the bowtie pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside. Reserve 1/4 cup of pasta water.

  2. Cook the Chicken:

    • While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

    • Add chicken pieces. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.

    • Cook until golden and cooked through (about 5–7 minutes). Remove and set aside.

  3. Make the Garlic Lemon Sauce:

    • In the same pan, add butter and minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

    • Add lemon zest, lemon juice, and chicken broth (or white wine). Let it simmer for 2–3 minutes to reduce slightly.

  4. Combine Everything:

    • Add cooked chicken back into the skillet. Add the drained pasta and toss to coat.

    • Stir in Parmesan cheese and heavy cream (if using). Add a bit of reserved pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce.

    • Taste and adjust seasoning. Add red pepper flakes if desired.

  5. Garnish and Serve:

    • Sprinkle with fresh parsley and a bit more Parmesan. Serve warm with lemon wedges on the side.
