Here’s a Healthy Chinese Ground Beef & Cabbage Stir Fry recipe that’s quick, easy, and packed with flavor — perfect for a low-carb or balanced meal:


🥢 Healthy Chinese Ground Beef & Cabbage Stir Fry

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) lean ground beef (93% lean or higher)

  • 1 tbsp sesame oil (or olive oil)

  • 4 cups green cabbage, thinly sliced

  • 1 cup carrots, julienned or grated

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated

  • 3 green onions, sliced

  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar

  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional for extra umami)

  • 1 tsp chili garlic sauce (optional, for heat)

  • Salt & pepper, to taste

  • Toasted sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Cook the Beef:
    In a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat if needed. Set aside.

  2. Sauté Aromatics:
    In the same pan, heat sesame oil. Add garlic, ginger, and white parts of green onions. Stir-fry for 30–60 seconds until fragrant.

  3. Add Veggies:
    Add cabbage and carrots. Stir-fry for about 4–5 minutes until cabbage is slightly softened but still crisp.

  4. Combine Everything:
    Return the cooked beef to the pan. Add soy sauce, rice vinegar, oyster sauce (if using), and chili garlic sauce. Mix well and cook for another 2–3 minutes.

  5. Finish & Serve:
    Taste and adjust seasoning with salt, pepper, or more soy sauce. Top with green onion tips and sesame seeds.

  • Serve alone for a low-carb meal.

  • Spoon over steamed jasmine rice, brown rice, or cauliflower rice.

  • Wrap in lettuce cups for a fun appetizer-style option.
