Classic Pea Salad

Here’s a simple and delicious Classic Pea Salad recipe that’s perfect for picnics, potlucks, or a side dish at home:


🥗 Classic Pea Salad Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups frozen peas (thawed and drained)

  • 1/2 cup red onion, finely chopped

  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, diced or shredded

  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon, crumbled

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise

  • 2 tablespoons sour cream (optional for extra creaminess)

  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar or white vinegar

  • 1 teaspoon sugar (adjust to taste)

  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Peas:

    • Thaw peas by letting them sit at room temperature or briefly rinsing with cold water. Drain well.

  2. Make the Dressing:

    • In a bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream (if using), vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper until smooth.

  3. Assemble the Salad:

    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the peas, red onion, cheddar cheese, and bacon.

    • Pour the dressing over the pea mixture and stir gently to coat everything evenly.

  4. Chill & Serve:

    • Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow flavors to blend.

    • Give it a quick stir before serving. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
