Here’s a simple and flavorful Beef and Vegetable Stir-Fry recipe you can try:


Beef and Vegetable Stir-Fry

Ingredients:

  • For the Stir-Fry:

    • 1 lb (450g) beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

    • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (divided)

    • 1 red bell pepper, sliced

    • 1 green bell pepper, sliced

    • 1 cup broccoli florets

    • 1 carrot, thinly sliced

    • 2 cloves garlic, minced

    • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated (optional)

    • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

    • Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

  • For the Sauce:

    • 3 tbsp soy sauce

    • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional for depth)

    • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce or brown sugar

    • 1 tbsp cornstarch

    • 1/2 cup beef broth or water

    • 1 tsp sesame oil


Instructions:

  1. Make the Sauce:
    In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce (or sugar), cornstarch, beef broth, and sesame oil. Set aside.

  2. Cook the Beef:
    Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the beef in a single layer and sear for 1–2 minutes per side until browned but not overcooked. Remove and set aside.

  3. Stir-Fry Vegetables:
    Add the remaining oil to the pan. Toss in garlic, ginger (if using), carrots, and broccoli. Stir-fry for 2–3 minutes, then add bell peppers and cook another 2 minutes.

  4. Combine and Sauce:
    Return the beef to the pan. Pour in the sauce and stir everything together. Cook for 2–3 more minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the meat and veggies.

  5. Serve:
    Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
