Roasted Asparagus with Bacon, Garlic, and Parmesan

Here’s a delicious recipe for Roasted Asparagus with Bacon, Garlic, and Parmesan that’s simple and full of flavor!

Ingredients:

  • 1 bunch of fresh asparagus (about 1 lb)
  • 4 strips of bacon
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: Lemon zest or juice for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Prepare the Bacon: In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove from the skillet and set aside. Once cooled, crumble the bacon into small pieces.

  3. Prepare the Asparagus: Rinse the asparagus and trim off the woody ends (about the bottom inch of the stalk). Lay the asparagus on a baking sheet.

  4. Season the Asparagus: Drizzle olive oil over the asparagus and toss to coat evenly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  5. Add Garlic and Bacon: Sprinkle the minced garlic over the asparagus. Then, sprinkle the crumbled bacon on top as well.

  6. Roast the Asparagus: Roast in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until the asparagus is tender but still slightly crisp. The edges might begin to brown.

  7. Add Parmesan: After roasting, remove the asparagus from the oven and immediately sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the hot asparagus. The cheese will melt from the heat.

  8. Garnish and Serve: If you like, add a little lemon zest or a squeeze of lemon juice for a bright, fresh finish. Serve immediately and enjoy!
