Here’s a simple and delicious Honey Chicken recipe for you:

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs (900g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar or white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (or any cooking oil)
  • 1-2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional, but adds a nice zest)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish, optional)
  • Green onions (for garnish, optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken:
    • Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces or strips, depending on your preference.
    • Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Make the Honey Sauce:
    • In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic, and ginger (if using). You can also add lemon juice for extra brightness.
  3. Cook the Chicken:
    • Heat the oil in a large skillet or pan over medium-high heat.
    • Add the chicken and cook for about 5-7 minutes, until the chicken is golden and cooked through. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking.
  4. Add the Sauce:
    • Once the chicken is cooked, reduce the heat to medium-low and pour the honey sauce over the chicken.
    • Stir to coat the chicken evenly. Let it simmer for another 3-4 minutes, so the sauce thickens and the chicken is well coated.
  5. Garnish and Serve:
    • Optional: Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions for added flavor and texture.
    • Serve over rice, quinoa, or steamed vegetables.
