Here’s a tasty recipe for Pecan Cinnamon Rolls that will have your kitchen smelling amazing!

Ingredients:

For the dough:

  • 1 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour (plus more for rolling)
  • 1 teaspoon salt

For the filling:

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup pecans, roughly chopped

For the cream cheese icing:

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1-2 tablespoons milk (to achieve desired consistency)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the dough:

  • In a small bowl, combine the warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Stir until dissolved and let sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  • In a large bowl, mix the melted butter, eggs, and yeast mixture.
  • Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes, or until it’s smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.

2. Make the filling:

  • In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon.
  • After the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a large rectangle (about 16×12 inches).
  • Spread the softened butter evenly over the dough.
  • Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the buttered dough, and then sprinkle the chopped pecans on top.

3. Roll and slice:

  • Starting from the long edge, carefully roll the dough into a tight log.
  • Slice the roll into 12 equal pieces.
  • Arrange the cinnamon rolls in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, leaving a little space between each roll.

4. Second rise:

  • Cover the pan with a damp towel and let the rolls rise for another 30-45 minutes, or until puffed up.

5. Bake:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown on top.

6. Make the icing:

  • While the rolls are baking, beat together the softened cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth and creamy.
  • If it’s too thick, add a bit more milk to reach your desired consistency.

7. Frost and serve:

  • Once the rolls are baked, let them cool for a few minutes before drizzling the cream cheese icing over the top.

Enjoy your homemade pecan cinnamon rolls! They’re perfect for breakfast, brunch, or just a sweet treat anytime!
