Easy Cinnamon Rolls

Posted on January 29, 2025 by admin
Here’s a simple recipe for easy cinnamon rolls! It uses quick-rise dough, so it’s faster than traditional methods.

Ingredients:

  • For the dough:
    • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
    • 2 tablespoons sugar
    • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 3/4 cup milk (warm, not hot)
    • 1/4 cup butter (melted)
    • 1 large egg
  • For the filling:
    • 1/4 cup butter (softened)
    • 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
    • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • For the glaze:
    • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
    • 1 tablespoon milk
    • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Make the dough:
    • In a large bowl, combine 1 cup of the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
    • In a separate bowl, mix warm milk, melted butter, and the egg.
    • Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until smooth.
    • Gradually add the rest of the flour, about 1/4 cup at a time, until a dough forms. You may not need all of the flour.
    • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, or until it’s soft and elastic.
    • Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for about 20 minutes.
  2. Prepare the filling:
    • While the dough rises, mix together the softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl until well combined.
  3. Shape the rolls:
    • Once the dough has risen, punch it down, and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle (about 12 x 8 inches).
    • Spread the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the dough.
    • Roll the dough tightly from the long edge, then slice it into 9 equal pieces.
  4. Bake the rolls:
    • Place the rolls in a greased 9-inch round baking dish or square pan.
    • Let them rise for another 10 minutes while preheating the oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  5. Glaze the rolls:
    • While the rolls are baking, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract for the glaze.
    • Once the rolls are out of the oven, drizzle the glaze over the top.

Let them cool for a few minutes, then enjoy your warm, gooey cinnamon rolls! They’re so easy and delicious!
