3 Minute Liquid Dough, Garlic Flatbread

Posted on January 16, 2025 by admin
3-Minute Liquid Dough Garlic Flatbread RecipeThis super quick and easy recipe uses a liquid dough, which makes the process of making garlic flatbread much faster while still delivering a delicious, soft, and flavorful result.

Ingredients:

For the dough:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (or whole wheat flour for a healthier version)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 cup water (you may need a little more or less, depending on the flour type)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

For the garlic topping:

  • 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (for brushing)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (chopped, optional)
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions:

Step 1: Make the Liquid Dough

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and baking powder.
  2. Slowly add the water and olive oil, mixing with a spoon or your hands until the dough forms a loose, sticky consistency. The dough should be soft and slightly wet but not too runny.
  3. Stir it until there are no dry patches of flour. If it’s too dry, add a little more water, one tablespoon at a time, until it reaches the right consistency.

Step 2: Cook the Flatbreads

  1. Heat a non-stick skillet or a flat griddle over medium-high heat.
  2. Lightly flour your hands or a rolling pin and divide the dough into small balls (about 3-4 for medium-sized flatbreads).
  3. Roll each ball out into a thin disc, about 5-6 inches in diameter. You don’t need to be too precise – rustic shapes work best.
  4. Place the rolled dough into the hot skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side, until the surface starts to bubble and the edges turn golden brown.

Step 3: Add Garlic Topping

  1. While the flatbread is cooking, heat the olive oil in a small pan over low heat and gently sauté the minced garlic until fragrant (about 30 seconds to 1 minute). Be careful not to burn it!
  2. Once the flatbread is cooked, immediately brush each flatbread with the garlic-infused olive oil. Sprinkle some salt and chopped parsley on top for added flavor.

Step 4: Serve

  • Serve the garlic flatbreads warm as a side with dips, soups, or as an accompaniment to any meal.

Tips:

  • You can adjust the thickness of the flatbreads based on your preference – thinner for crispier texture or thicker for a chewier result.
  • Experiment with adding other seasonings, such as dried oregano, rosemary, or chili flakes, for a flavor twist.

Enjoy your quick, garlicky, and delicious flatbread!
