Baked potatoes with garlic and butter

Posted on January 11, 2025 by admin

Baked potatoes with garlic and butter are a classic and delicious dish! Here’s a simple recipe you can follow:

Ingredients:

  • 4 large russet potatoes
  • 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 tbsp butter (or more, to taste)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh herbs (optional), such as parsley or chives
  • Olive oil (optional, for rubbing on the skins)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Prep the potatoes: Scrub the potatoes clean and pat them dry. If you want crispier skin, rub them with a little olive oil and season with salt.
  3. Pierce the potatoes: Use a fork to poke a few holes in each potato. This helps steam escape while they bake.
  4. Bake the potatoes: Place the potatoes directly on the oven rack or a baking sheet. Bake for 45-60 minutes, or until a fork easily pierces the flesh of the potatoes.
  5. Prepare the garlic butter: While the potatoes bake, melt the butter in a small pan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes, until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
  6. Finish the potatoes: Once the potatoes are baked, remove them from the oven. Slice them open and fluff the inside with a fork.
  7. Top with garlic butter: Spoon the garlic butter over the fluffy potato interior. You can add salt and pepper to taste, and sprinkle with fresh herbs like chopped parsley or chives for added flavor and color.
  8. Serve and enjoy!

These baked potatoes make a perfect side dish for steak, grilled chicken, or a hearty salad. You can also top them with sour cream, cheese, or bacon for extra indulgence. Enjoy!
