Ingredients:

  • For the Chocolate Cheesecake Layer:
    • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
    • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
    • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
    • 1/2 cup Bailey’s Irish Cream
    • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • For the Chocolate Cake Layer:
    • 1 box chocolate cake mix (or you can make your own homemade chocolate cake)
    • Ingredients required to make the cake (usually eggs, oil, and water)
  • For the Chocolate Drizzle:
    • 1/2 cup heavy cream
    • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • For Garnishing:
    • Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder (optional)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Chocolate Cake:

  • Preheat the oven and bake the chocolate cake according to the instructions on the box or your homemade recipe. Once baked, allow the cake to cool completely.
  • Once cooled, cut the cake into small cubes or crumbles.

2. Make the Chocolate Cheesecake Layer:

  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with the powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
  • In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
  • Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture.
  • Add the Bailey’s Irish Cream, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract, and mix until combined and smooth.

  • In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer.

  • In a large trifle dish or individual serving glasses, layer the chocolate cake cubes at the bottom.
