Honey Buttermilk Bread Recipe

Posted on January 6, 2025 by admin

Here’s a delicious and easy recipe for Honey Buttermilk Bread! This bread is soft, slightly sweet, and has a rich flavor from the honey and buttermilk.

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 large egg

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon (if using).
  3. Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, honey, buttermilk, and egg.
  4. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Slowly pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Gently fold together using a spatula or wooden spoon. Mix just until the ingredients are combined – it’s okay if the batter is a little lumpy. Avoid overmixing.
  5. Transfer to Loaf Pan: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it out evenly.
  6. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean. If the top starts to brown too quickly, tent it with a piece of aluminum foil and continue baking.
  7. Cool: Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Serve: Slice and enjoy! This bread is perfect on its own or spread with a bit of butter or jam.

Enjoy your homemade honey buttermilk bread!
