Here’s a delicious recipe for Honey-Glazed Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Bacon that combines savory, sweet, and smoky flavors:

Ingredients:

  • Brussels Sprouts – 1 lb (trimmed and halved)
  • Bacon – 4 slices (chopped)
  • Olive Oil – 2 tablespoons
  • Honey – 2 tablespoons
  • Balsamic Vinegar – 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic – 2 cloves (minced)
  • Salt – to taste
  • Black Pepper – to taste
  • Red Pepper Flakes (optional) – a pinch for a little heat
  • Parmesan cheese (optional) – for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare Brussels Sprouts:
    • Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and cut them in half lengthwise.
    • If any outer leaves are loose or yellowed, discard them.
  3. Cook Bacon:
    • In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy (about 6-8 minutes).
    • Remove the bacon and drain on a paper towel, reserving some of the bacon drippings in the pan.
  4. Toss Brussels Sprouts:
    • In the same skillet with the reserved bacon drippings (or olive oil if preferred), add the Brussels sprouts. Toss them so they get coated in the bacon drippings.
    • Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
    • Spread the Brussels sprouts evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Roast:
    • Roast in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, tossing halfway through, until the Brussels sprouts are golden brown and crispy on the edges.
  6. Prepare Honey Glaze:
    • While the Brussels sprouts are roasting, whisk together the honey, balsamic vinegar, and minced garlic in a small bowl.
  7. Finish the Dish:
    • Once the Brussels sprouts are done, remove them from the oven and drizzle the honey glaze over the top.
    • Sprinkle the cooked bacon over the Brussels sprouts and toss everything together gently to coat.
  8. Optional Garnish:
    • For added flavor, you can sprinkle freshly grated Parmesan cheese over the Brussels sprouts.
  9. Serve:
    • Serve hot as a delicious side dish and enjoy the perfect combination of sweet, smoky, and savory flavors!
