chocolate chip cookies

Here’s a simple and delicious chocolate chip cookie recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 cups (280g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup (2 sticks, 227g) unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (200g) packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups (340g) semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda. Set aside.
  3. Cream butter and sugars: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt together using an electric mixer or stand mixer on medium speed until creamy and light (about 2-3 minutes).
  4. Add eggs and vanilla: Beat in the eggs, one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated. Add vanilla extract and mix again.
  5. Add dry ingredients: Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Add chocolate chips: Stir in the chocolate chips using a spatula or spoon until evenly distributed.
  7. Scoop dough: Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop rounded balls of dough (about 1 1/2 tablespoons per cookie) onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake: Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft.
  9. Cool: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 2 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
