Cinnamon Roll Cake

Cinnamon Roll Cake is a delicious, easy-to-make dessert that combines the best elements of a cinnamon roll and a cake. It has a moist, fluffy cake base with a sweet, swirled cinnamon filling throughout, topped with a creamy glaze. Here’s a simple recipe to make this scrumptious treat:

Ingredients:

For the cake:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the cinnamon swirl:

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

For the glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.

2. Make the cinnamon swirl:

  • In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, cinnamon, and softened butter. Stir until well combined and set aside.

3. Prepare the cake batter:

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and sugar.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.

4. Assemble the cake:

  • Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it out evenly.
  • Drop spoonfuls of the cinnamon swirl mixture on top of the batter and swirl it gently with a knife or skewer to create the cinnamon ribbon.
  • Pour the remaining cake batter over the swirl and spread it evenly.

5. Bake the cake:

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

6. Make the glaze:

  • While the cake is cooling, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.

7. Finish the cake:

  • Once the cake has cooled slightly, drizzle the glaze over the top.
  • Allow the glaze to set for a few minutes before serving.
