2 ingredient creamy custard dessert

Here’s a simple two-ingredient creamy custard dessert recipe:

Ingredients:

  1. Egg Yolks: 4 large eggs (separate the yolks from the whites)
  2. Sweetened Condensed Milk: 1 can (14 ounces)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Custard Mixture:
    • In a mixing bowl, whisk the egg yolks until they are smooth and creamy.
    • Add the sweetened condensed milk to the egg yolks and mix until well combined. You should have a smooth, creamy mixture.
  2. Cooking the Custard:
    • Pour the custard mixture into a saucepan.
    • Cook over low to medium heat, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon or silicone spatula. Be sure to scrape the bottom and sides of the pan to prevent sticking and ensure even cooking.
    • Continue cooking and stirring until the custard thickens to your desired consistency. This usually takes about 10-15 minutes. The custard should coat the back of the spoon and hold a line drawn through it with your finger.
  3. Chill and Serve:
    • Once the custard reaches the desired thickness, remove it from the heat.
    • Pour the custard into serving dishes or ramekins.
    • Allow the custard to cool to room temperature, then cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until completely chilled and set.
    • Serve the creamy custard chilled, either plain or topped with fresh fruit, whipped cream, or a sprinkle of cinnamon, if desired.
